Local sports radio host, Michael Connor, recently decided it was time for LASIK. After years of having to wear glasses and contacts, Connor chose to weigh his options for 20/20 vision with Dr. Mattioli. Is LASIK worth it? “He is awesome…the nicest guy in the world. He cares like everybody else here but he walks you through it, he made me comfortable with everything. You can be a little bit nervous about going through it but there’s no reason to be because he’s hands on, he walks you through everything, and on top of it he knows what he’s doing. He’s fantastic at it. I am just very very lucky to be able to get this procedure done with him,” says Connor.
For Connor, the procedure itself proved to be well worth the initial visit.
“I’m like a new person. A lot of people are still getting used to seeing me without glasses on my face like, ‘Is this actually you?’ I say, ‘Yes, it is! No more glasses!’ I just feel completely different but in the best way possible. I’m confident that I can see everything and do everything I want to do and not have to worry about putting glasses or contacts on.”

Connor says of his newfound vision, “[It’s] Different in a great way, amazing! It’s a whole new world. You see everything…I tell everybody, I don’t remember what it was like to be able to see clearly unless I had glasses on my face. Now everything’s sharp. I feel like a different person!”

LASIK eye surgery is a remarkable and highly successful procedure that helps those who need vision correction to see clearly without glasses or contact lenses. LASIK is a type of refractive laser surgery that reshapes the cornea of the eye to help the individual see more clearly. The LASIK procedure itself lasts anywhere between 10-15 minutes.
